HP yesterday announced a new version of their Media Vault specifically designed for Small Business. Christened the HP StorageWorks Media Vault Pro, the system is an affordable (sub-$1000) NAS solution with 1 TB of disk space, and interestingly, 2 GB of free online storage space from Spare Backup.
The form factor looks the same as the existing consumer-targeted HP Media Vault product (which is similar again to the s7000 PC I purchased last week) (albeit with a far larger storage capacity) and is a very cute piece of hardware.
I wonder whether HP’s forthcoming MediaSmart Windows Home Server hardware may utlimately more resemble the Media Vault product, rather than the more flashy protoype they unveiled at CES.
