WinHEC 2007: Windows Home Server Announcements

Wed, May 16, 2007 | Terry Walsh

Bill Gates at WinHEC 2007

Well, my hunch was correct - Microsoft used Bill Gates’ WinHEC 2007 Keynote to announce new hardware partners, forthcoming software releases for Windows Home Server, and reveal that around 60,000 people are now in the beta programme. Furthermore, a coding competition (The Windows Home Server Code2Fame Challenge) was announced for developers to win up to $10,000 for the best Home Server add-ins.

There’s a lot of news to get through, so I’ll be covering each announcement in separate posts over the next few days.

For now though, check out the keynote and WHS demo at the WinHEC 2007 site.
