Server Upgrade = Downtime

Fri, Jul 6, 2007 | Terry Walsh

I’ve been having a few bandwidth/server space issues with my webhost (1 and 1) recently, and was surprised to see they’re actually running a two-tier system, in that new customers are actually getting twice the server space and transfer allowance that they give to their existing, loyal customers for the same price. Cue many irate emails to their billing and support people, until I finally found one who could give me a solution.

So, as a result, we’ll be switching servers today which means the site will be down for at least 6 hours. Then let’s hope all my files don’t disappear as a result. Yes, I’ve backed up :-)

See you on the other side.
