Windows Home Server - Shipping September 7th in the UK?

Mon, Aug 20, 2007 | Terry Walsh

With all of the weekend’s fun and games regarding the release of Windows Home Server, there’s lots of confusion around the web as to when you’ll be able to get your hands on the software (i.e. the System Builder SKU).

Some resellers in Australia and New Zealand do now have stock and are shipping, whereas resellers in the UK and Germany have the product listed, but are still awaiting stock. One UK reseller, e-buyer has quoted the end of August for stock to be received, but I’ve also heard that a major distributor, Ingram Micro, have pushed UK availability back to September 7th.

There’s still no word on US, Spanish or French availability.

What does all this mean? It means that no-one’s 100% sure of what’s happening - so the best thing to do is to take a step back and wait. At some point over the next few weeks, you should be able to get your hands on Windows Home Server.
