Tranquil T7-HSA Home Server - Upgraded to Gigabit Ethernet Pre-Release Thanks to You!

Tranquil Harmony Home Server

As you know, we released full specs and pricing of Tranquil PC’s T7-HSA Harmony Home Server a couple of weeks ago, and have featured it pretty heavily over the last month or so.

Whilst the system received lots of positive feedback from you all, there was one problem which several of you highlighted - the lack of Gigabit Ethernet. Check out the comments from our last feature on the system.

I’m really delighted to say that David from Tranquil has been in touch this afternoon to say that Tranquil really took your feedback to heart, and have spent the last week working on a solution, and today have announced that the T7-HSA will now ship with a new motherboard including Gigabit Ethernet, and better still, they’ve upgraded the processor too, at no extra cost to the customer.

For the full announcement, check out Tranquil’s blog.

The revised specs are:

  • Small, quiet T7 Fan less appliance (optimised for vertical orientation)
  • 1.5GHz efficient CPU
  • Internal 500GB HDD
  • 512MB DDR2 RAM
  • Gigabit (GbE) Ethernet connectivity
  • USB2.0 ports for up to 4x additional external HDDs
  • Windows Home Server installed
  • Power consumption < 24W
  • Integrated power for up to 4x USB2.0 external 12VDC HDDs (single PSU required).
  • Windows Home Server Client CD, and recovery CD
  • The more the Windows Home Server community develops, the more I love it - this kind of interaction between the community and OEMs is amazing, and mutually beneficial. I’d like to say a personal thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts on the blog and to David at Tranquil for listening and taking action at this late stage of development.
