Life|ware Announce WHS-based Life|storage Home Server

Over in Denver, the CEDIA exhibition is well under way. CEDIA is the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association and their yearly shindig is where you’ll find a lot of high-end home electronics solutions announced.

In amongst various announcements regarding Windows Media Center, CableCARD systems and WMC extenders, Life|ware yesterday announced support for Windows Home Server with their new Life|storage digital media server.

Life|storage Home Server Lifestorage in Silver

Whilst details are still sketchy, the system includes 4 hot swappable drives held in a 4 bay rack mounted system with RAID 5 support. The unit is powered by an Intel 3.4GHz Pentium D.

Specification is as follows:

  • 3.4GHz Intel® Pentium® D Processor
  • Completely self-contained on-board computer
  • Microsoft® Windows® Home Server Operating System
  • Front panel DVD Recorder/Player
  • 28-in-1 Digital Media Reader
  • USB and Firewire ports
  • Available with black or silver finishes
