KeepVault is an online backup utility, which offers an extra layer of protection for your Windows Home Server and home computers. Whilst WHS’ Drive Extender technology allows all of your files to be replicated on the home server itself, physical damage to the server (say in the case of fire or flood) could cause your data to be lost permanently.

KeepVault allows you to back-up and restore your data over the internet to and from a remote server, so it’s protected from physical damage in the home. The product is currently in beta, with 3Gb of storage available for free, and additional storage available at a fee.

• Fully integrated to the Windows Home Server console
• Select which shares you want to protect
• Monitors for changes/additions to your Windows Home Server shares and automatically uploads them to secure storage servers
• Access protected files from anywhere by logging into your account
• Protect files either immediately or once every evening (Midnight to 6am)
• Ability to limit the amount of bandwidth used for the uploads
• Free account has 3 GB of storage space, with a 10 MB download limitation. Pay-for accounts are available for higher storage needs by following the link within the plug-in. 
• The beta version 2.5 expires October 1, 2007. File protection will stop and WHS console will notify you that the beta software has expired.
