The world’s first anti-virus product for Windows Home Server is now in beta and available to download!
avast! WHS Edition is a product designed specifically for antivirus protection of the upcoming Microsoft Windows Home Server platform. Besides providing the protection of the WHS machine, it also supports simple management of other avast! products on the home network. This is performed directly through the WHS console, by means of a new configuration page.
Note: This is a very short beta; the product is scheduled to be released in the first half of November 2007, i.e. by the time the first WHS-based systems ship.

Thanks mate - 11 hours on a plane isn’t fun - especially as I now know I’m going to be flying right back here in about 10 days for worK!

I have used avast! Home Edition for quite some time now and have been very happy with its performance. When I set up my WHS I downloaded the trial avast! 4 Server Edition and installed it with no problems. When my trail copy expired I was seriously considering purchasing it. But after seeing this WHS version of avast! and how it can monitor all your networked PCs from the WHS console as well as the WHS server itself, I was ecstatic! I can’t wait to get home and try it.

Avast WHS Edition is now updated to beta 2, and this release should resolve the inaccessible shares issue that some people were having with beta 1.
