We Got Served

Over the summer, I was lucky enough to be invited by Apress to be the Technical Reviewer on Andrew Edney’s Windows Home Server User’s Guide. The job entailed ensuring Andrew’s text was technically correct, all walkthroughs, hints and tips did what they were meant to, and generally give a steer on ensuring that the technical content of the book was pitche at the right level.

This led to me getting Word documents, hot off the press, each week and passing comments back to Andrew and his projetc manager, Beth. Those of you who hang out at the MS Forums will see that since completing the book, Andrew’s been actively supporting the community over there.

Anyway, the book is a great read and takes you through selecting hardware for a self-install home server all the way through installing and configuring Windows Home Server right through to more advanced networking concepts. According to Amazon, it’s released on October 29th and is now available to pre-order at both US and UK sites. You’ll even get to learn a bit more about me (there’s a small biog in there somewhere)! The UK price looks a bit steep right now, so Amazon US may be your best bet…
