Looks easy enough.
I’m planning of installing Sharepoint on my WHS. But I don’t know what I (and my friends/family) could do with it, or if we actually need it. aww, mayb I should just install it and play with it for a while to understand what’s all about.

Roushan,
Unfortunately, you can only install it on a Windows Server-based product, like Windows Server, Windows Small Business Server and Windows Home Server.

Installed WSPS 3.0 on my WHS. I could sychronize shared documents w/Outlook 2007 but not calendar, tasks, contacts or any other list items. Ended up hosing WHS when I tried to install WSPS w/SP1 and had to to a factory reset. BTW, the port that you have to open in order for the factory reset to work is 8912 not 8192 as stated in the online documentation.

I follwed the PDF fine (but left SharePoint as the default web site) but while hunting around I found that the main problem is that the default database resides on the C: partition and its admin tools do not let you move this to another drive.
Not wishing to fill up my C: drive more than I need to, I have followed the instructions at http://www.wssdemo.com/Pages/db.aspx and moved it into a folder on the D:drive. Note a lot of sites report the sp_attach_db with an ‘N’ in it but I found:
EXEC sp_attach_db @dbname = ‘WSS_Content_73f42ba7-0416-48a3-8133-0995790615ff’, @filename1 = ‘D:\SharePoint\KingsSleepData\WSS_Content_73f42ba7-0416-48a3-8133-0995790615ff.mdf’, @filename2 = ‘D:\SharePoint\KingsSleepData\WSS_Content_73f42ba7-0416-48a3-8133-0995790615ff_log.ldf’
worked for me (note your GUI may be different)
If you are having trouble finding the GUI for the site use the Central Administration > Application Management > Site Collection List to show you the full database name.
Now to get SMTP support up and running for incomming mail support
