How about buying a HP mediasmart in the UK? Amazon.com don’t ship here so is there any prospect of amazon.co.uk selling them soon?

HP state on the Q&A: “The bottom drive [500GB] has the WHS OS on it and shouldn’t be swapped out. All three other drives can be swapped out with larger drives as needed”
So how can you possibly put 4TB in the box (9TB total) as they are quoting?

Allan, I recently emailed HP UK and got
“In response to your query regarding the HP Media smart Server EX470/EX475, We do not have a due date at this present time for the launch of this product I would advise to check are website on a weekly basis for updates for the lunch date.”
Can’t wait for my free lunch

Hi Ben
I guess you would have to swap out the bottom drive, and reinstall the server…..

It appears that the promotion code is now generally available to anyone who visits the product page on amazon.com. I already had my order in place (I couldn’t wait), so I had to cancel and re-order to get the extra $20 off. It didn’t change their shipping estimate, but I suspect I did lose my place in line. We’ll see if I regret that later!
