Looks like if you got your order in early, then Amazon.com are now shipping the HP Mediasmart Server - several people received shipping emails yesterday, so who knows, your home server could be with you before the weekend!

The HP website (shopping.hp.com) states its in stock and ready to ship…. Earlier it would NOT let you order one, and just said “COMING SOON”.
I have one on PREORDER at COMPUSA, but still no word when its going to ship . . . .

So for those who got the shipment e-mail from Amazon…….when did you place your order and what model did you order? I ordered an EX470 on 11/9 and Amazon is giving me a shipping estimate of December 12, 2007 - December 26, 2007.
Just trying to figure out where I am in the queue.

Strange:
I ordered mine (EX470) from Amazon on Wednesday, and got the shipping notice yesterday. I’m not sure how I “jumped the line”, but it’s on the truck for delivery now….

If the allocation works like Amazon UK did Xbox 360 pre-orders, a lot depends on which regional warehouse is used by Amazon to fulfill your order and when stock arrives in those warehouses. i.e. it’s not done in order. There was a massive hoo-hah about it a couple of years ago….

Terry Walsh has a good point. Amazon probably doesn’t ship on a “first to order, first to ship” basis. So where is everyone located? I’m in Boston, MA, and am really want mine , preferably yesterday. So much so, I’ve been pondering ordering one off the HP website.
Kudos to Kevin for ordering later than me, and getting it sooner. I envy you (though with some undeserved animosity and jealousy).

- the shipment is coming from ACWORTH, GA, US.
Don’t feel bad, though - I’m not home to receive it, and probably won’t be able to pick it up tonight anyway.. Sigh.

I live in Atlanta, GA and my estimated shipment date is December 12-26th…you got my hopes up seeing that yours was coming from Acworth, GA. I haven’t heard anything about it shipping yet though. I guess I’ll have to keep my fingers crossed!

Sure enough, they tried to deliver it on Friday and I wasn’t home; I couldn’t get to the UPS depot before the closed, so I have to wait until Monday.. (And then there’s work monday, and the gym after, then FINALLY I’ll get to play
