Looks like people have been buying the new HP MediaSmart Server in droves across the US and UK, with a few people reporting stock problems on both sides of the Atlantic. I’ve just done a quick look around, and if you’re keen to get on before Xmas, here’s who has them in stock and ready to ship right now.
USA
Amazon - EX475 | EX470
(Interestingly, they now say “International shipping available”)
HP Store - EX475 | EX470
Newegg -EX475 | EX470
UK
Micro Anvika - EX470
Ripcaster - EX470 | EX475
Good luck!

I had great fun trying to find mine. HP Friends and Family don’t even have them (ah contacts, how handy)
I ended up ordering from http://www.cclonline.com and got the last EX475 last week. It looks like they have another 10 in stock now.

RE: International shipping available:
Living in the Netherlands I looked for a shop that would ship it to me, and found http://www.bhphotovideo.com. (They don’t have stock anymore) ordered it last Wednesday and it arrived last Monday in time for Xmas

Mine arrived from Servers Direct today having been ordered yesterday. An EX470 plus two Samsung 500GB HDDs. My impression is that they still have stock of both server and HDD.

In the USA Best Buy and Circuit City have at least the EX470 in stock for web sales only. In addition, CompUSA has some units which can be ordered on-line and picked up in stores, but they’ve just announced they are closing the doors on their physical stores and all sales from this point out are final, so I won’t necessarily recommend them.

It is difficult to find an EX470 or 475 in the US right now. HP shopping.com has some of each model ($599/$749) as does Best Buy and Circuit City (EX470 only). I was able to get an EX 475 from MacMall.com for $699 which is the lowest US price I’ve seen.
Supply is tight but that should be a short term issue.

Still not shipping in the netherlands, bummer. @pcmklein, thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a try.
