Data Corruption Bug - Microsoft Will Communicate On Monday

Seems like we’ll all get an update at some point on Monday from Microsoft regarding the status of the data corruption bug. Stay tuned to WGS, the Windows Home Server Team Blog and Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Well, I really hope that Monday’s update includes a hotfix as it might mean PP1 gets its public release shortly after?

I wrote this message on microsoft forum.. it’s been deleted with another user’s post complaining about the KB update. What a shame!

I’ve just bought an OEM copy of french WHS (after spending a month testing the 120 days trial) hoping that this Monday KB update will offer us a fix.. June 2008?! Come on! you’re kidding me!

I’m really upset, i’ll have to wait three months (at least) using a single HDD without duplicating my data. Great! I have to deal with 500Go of very precious (i mean emotional value) non duplicated family media!

WHS = Bakup your backups.. maybe using a “real” server solution (how about linux?)

I’m really thinking about returning my WHS dvd without even opening it and contact a consumer rights defense association.

I’ve just seen the same update….”Microsoft intends to release beta test versions of a fix over the next few months, with a final version currently planned for June 2008″ Are these people taking the biscuit?

The additional 3 x 500GB drives I purchased for my media smart server are going to be sitting on the side for SIX months while you fix this!!! What a waste of money it was buying a licensed microsoft product… Why didn’t I just install a warez version on an old piece of kit….
