Another OEM has joined the select group of those providing commercial WHS systems - welcome to the Avideus HSE Home Server which is another system, along with the Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo and Velocity Micro Netmagix servers, based on the Intel SS4200-EHW Server design.
Available now, from US$799, the Avideus HSE Home Server is the first Windows Home Server product from Avideus. Avideus is a new brand of products for the digital home from the PCAlchemy company. They are located in San Marcos, California.
It is unclear from Avideus’s press relase just what add-in’s are included to differentiate the system from its competitors however it does come with a 3 year limited warranty that will provide some peace of mind.
Avedius have a special launch offer of a free 1TB upgrade for the Avideus HSE, you’ll find the Avideus HSE Home Server at PCAlchemy.com and until 15 May 2008 the 1TB (2 x 500GB) storage option (up from the standard 500GB drive) is free (a $100 saving).
We’ve set up a thread on the WGS Forums for the Avideus HSE so let us know your thoughts on what you think - and it’s available on our What WHS System Do You Have? poll.
