GridJunction is a new add-in from Alexander Kent (who previously authored Vista Caller-ID for Windows Home Server) which allows you to monitor the state of any Uninterruptible Power Supply attached to your home server, either by USB or Serial connection.
If the home server switches to battery power (i.e. lead unplugged, no power etc) it will use the WHS Notification system to broadcast a network wide alert to all home computers. The add-in uses a staged notification system, flashing yellow when the battery is half empty and red when there is little battery power left.
Alexander is still putting the finishing touches to the add-in, but following a period of testing, it will be released in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here’s a few screenshots to whet your appetite!

The http://www.gridjunction.com website is now live with updated screenshots, more information, and a beta request form to help us bring about a structured beta slated to kick-off May 7th.
If you currently have a UPS connected to your home server or are thinking about getting an UPS to help protect your Windows Home Server from power problems and you are comfortable with beta-testing please consider.
Thank you
