The team at Raxco are pretty after Windows IT Pro Magazine selected Raxco’s PerfectDisk 2008 as its Editor’s Choice for best enterprise disk defragmenter in its upcoming May edition.
In a two page review the reviewer, Eric B Rux, looked at three server level disk defragmenters - Diskeeper’s Diskeeper 2008 Server, O&O Software’s O&O Defrag 10 Server Edition, and Raxco’s PerfectDisk 2008 Server and wrote ”PerfectDisk is an outstanding value, earning my highest recommendation and Windows IT Pro’s Editor’s Choice distinction”. Note the products reviewed were server versions but not specifically the WHS products however both Diskeeper and Raxco have WHS versions available.
You can also download trial versions of both PerfectDisk for Windows Home Server and Diskeeper 2008 Home Server to try for yourself.
You can check out our member’s experiences with Diskeeper’s Diskeeper 2008 HomeServer, and Raxco’s PerfectDisk for Windows Home Server in our forums.

I really like PerfectDisk. I use it for my HP MediaSmart Server as well as my 2 PC’s. It works in the background so well that I forget that I have it. That’s the kind of software I like!

I don’t use it myself however it is rated highly by our mmebers - you can check out their comments on it in our PerfectDisk forum - http://www.wegotserved.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=13 - I don’t believe the product impacts
(good or bad) the corruption bug.

Interesting review. Never heard of this O&O defragger, but I’ve taken the Perfectdisk and Diskeeper 2008 desktop versions for a spin (pun unintended) on my harddrives. I preferred the amazing ease of use of Diskeeper and it’s ability to run smoothly behind the scenes yet deliver excellent results on my 1 TB worth of drives in my XP gaming setup. I was so impressed that I actually shelled out good money for the full version, which is quite rare for me since I usually prefer freeware ( but *never* pirated ) apps.
