We’ve been asking our members and visitors to the WGS forums what WHS systems they are using for just over four months now. We believe this is the best source of data available anywhere on what people are using for WHS.
As well as the limited numbers of commercial systems available we’ve included the option to identify your system as either a new custom build or a “recycled” and whether it’s Intel or AMD based system.
It’s been running since 28 January 2008 and in the last 2 months since we last reported on results we’ve had another 129 responses for a total of 519 votes (and 9951 views – so next time you visit please vote).
It’s interesting to see that 38% of the systems are recycled and 62% of the custom build systems are Intel Processor based. There is no surprise that of the commercial systems the HP MediaSmart is well ahead with 76% of the commercial system share and has increased by 46% over the number of MediaSmart systems reported in April - however commercial systems still only account for only 31% of the total number of systems.
The survey is still open and you can cast your vote @ http://forum.wegotserved.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=349
